1.2. Myanmar Unicode Project
We are just about to kick off "Myanmar Unicode Project" with the code name "mmUnicS".

by MyanmarLUG in order to research and develop universally acceptable Myanmar

2. Highlights of the year 2000
2.1. SIGs Millennium event
On 29th of December 2000, SIGs celebrated a dinner party at KaRaWeit Hall from 7:30 p.m. thru 10:30 p.m. It was attended by chairpersons, EC members, members of MCF and MCSA, special invited guests, fun fair guests. Many have contributed free gifts and lucky draws ranging from a handmade bag to a hi-fi stereo sound system and not to forget about a y2k hardware card;) Hey! What did MyanmarLUG/SIGLinux contribute? nothing??? Commoonnn!!! You know us!!! We did contribute 50 CD-ROMs of Red Hat 7.0 Installer.
On behalf of SIGLinux, we acknowledge
the certificates of appreciation given by MCSA.
2.2. Training Program by MyanmarLUG/SIG-Linux
Part of SIG-Linux/MyamarLUG funding scheme, we engaged Linux Training/workshop with the followings;
- A group of 5 Linux newbies
organized by Mr. Kyaw Lwin Moe Sai
- A group of 10 Computer Professionals
organized by Ms. Khin Aye Win of Myanmar World Distribution
- A group of 20 Teachers of
Yangon Technological University (YTU) organized by U Tin Aung Win of Moe
Myint Moe Company Ltd.
And a few more training sessions are being scheduled!!!
2.3 SIG-Linux/MyanmarLUG is so proud to acknowledge that-
YTU has deployed Linux in YTU
educational Institute for research and development purpose.
On top of it, SIG-Linux/MyanmarLUG is proud to have had a chance to assist YTU in terms of Linux training
and technical support for Linux/NT infrastructure.
Perhaps, SIGLinux/MyanmarLUG is happy to assist education sectors to get started with Linux in school projects of many sorts.
